PURPOSE: To provide the marking method of an optical frequency and the communication network having a frequency channel employing this method. CONSTITUTION: A scanning spectral range DB is scanned, so that an optical reference frequency FR matches with a monitored frequency being each component of frequencies subjected to be marking. In order to allow the reference frequency to be in frequency matching in a forward path and a return path for each scanning half period, scanning is made in the forward path and the return path according to the known rules. Thus, a marking interval being the lapse of time between two matched points is measured. This interval forms marking of monitored frequencies, and an optical frequency is able to be locked, in contrast with the constant interval. This method is especially applicable to the stabilization of marking of carrier frequencies of a network, where frequency channels C1, C2 are assigned closely to each other. |
