Cooking appliance which makes possible the grilling and cooking of food by electromagnetic radiation of food contained in a container placed under the radiation generator. This radiation, emitted by quartz, halogen lamps, infrared lamps or resistors, is sent directly to the inside of the container through two glass-ceramic windows. A piece of equipment makes it possible to hold the generator above the container at a variable height which allows the use of containers of different height. A safety device switches the appliance off if the container is not correctly installed. Quality of cooking and of grilling due to the use of radiation in a humid atmosphere.
