PURPOSE: To obtain a color toner high in powder fluidity, hardly affected by humidity change by covering the surface of a particle composed of the mixture of a polymer resin, a coloring agent, a dye or the like with a component introduced from a condensed material of a cellulose polymer and a silane component. CONSTITUTION: A stable oil-in-water type fine liquid droplet emulsion is formed by mixing with high shear the mixture of an adding monomer, a radical polymerization initiator, a coloring agent and a polymer and dispersing in a cellulose aq. solution containing an inorganic surfactant. And, the fine liquid droplets are converted to a polymer toner particle by radical polymerizing the adding monomer. The resultant toner particle is processed with a silane reagent to produce a silane modified toner particle. In the dispersing process, the cellulose surfactant molecules are adsorbed and coagulated on the fine liquid droplets to form a microcapsule coating film around the fine liquid droplets. The color toner is produced with a simple single vessel type process by the method. |
