<p>PURPOSE: To provide an architecture for the communication exchange for fields of a parallel computer with high processing capability by which audio, image and data information are uniformly processed. CONSTITUTION: A large number of the same kinds of exchange control units ASC are interconnectable via a switching circuit network ICN, used for forming line connection. Similarly to the case with a super-massive parallel computer, each exchange control unit ASC conducts a small partial operation accordingly, for an object of a same connection on each occasion simultaneously. A specific processor DSP, a CTP, an I/F are provided to a part of the control unit. The switching circuit network ICN has through-connection processing capability, markedly in excess of a requirement with respect to a conventional line connection form.</p> |
