PURPOSE:To enhance durability by providing a sacrificial electrode at a ground terminal thereby preventing a seal gap from fusing due to power supply. CONSTITUTION:A bottomed tubular metallic seal cap 1 is fitted on a submarine cable 5 at an end thereof and sealed with a sealing material 7 such as self-fusing tape, while an earth connecting wire 3 is connected in the seal cap 1 with the central conductor 6 of the submarine cable 5. Metallic sacrificial split electrodes 2 are then secured through a securing part 4 to the submarine cable 5 and the earth connecting wire 3 is connected, at the other end, with the securing part 4. |
