The torsion damping device includes two coaxial parts (1, 2), elastic means with circumferential action (4), and a friction device (5) acting axially between the said parts. The friction device (5) includes a rubbing washer (52-352) in contact with a first bearing surface (61-361). The friction device (5) forms a unit assembly including at least one element made of elastic material (50-150-250-350) coated by by fixing a friction washer (52-352) on at least one of its faces. The said unit assembly (5) is interposed with axial clamping between the said first bearing surface (61-361) and a second bearing surface (60-160). Application: motor vehicles. <IMAGE>
