PURPOSE: To provide an optical record reader unnecessitating a wide view convergent lens. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a laser diode array 10 consisting of a laser diode 22 radiating plural laser beams. Respective laser diodes 22 are separated from adjacent laser diodes by a distance larger than nearly 50μm. The device is provided with plural channel waveguides 24 connected to plural laser diodes 22 also. Respective channel waveguides 24 are provided related to the answering laser diodes 22. The channel waveguides 24 guide the light radiated by the laser diodes 22 to an optical disk to record information on the optical disk. Further, the channel waveguides receive the light reflected from the optical disk to read the information on the optical disk. Respective beams 12 outgoing from respective channel waveguides are separated from the adjacent beams by the beforehand selected distance smaller than nearly 50μm. |
