PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic head having low friction noises by including at least one piece of core part of a material formed by specifying the average grain size of a polycrystalline MnZn ferroferrite material to a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION: The magnetic head 1 is composed of two pieces of the core parts 2, 3 of the polycrystalline MnZn ferrite. The average grain size of the ferroferrite material is specified to the range of 0.2 to 3.0μm. Coil wires 4 playing the role of transmitting reading, recording and/or erasing signals are wound around the core apart 2 through an opening 5 for winding of the magnetic head 1. The core parts 2, 3 are bonded with glass in a gap. Friction noise is drastically lowered by using the MnZn ferrite material having the average grain size of <=3μm. If, however, the average grain size is smaller than 0.2μm, the magnetic efficiency of the head is insufficient. |
