PURPOSE:To provide the projection device which is made smaller in size, simpler in construction, lower in cost and larger in magnification rate by synthesizing and condensing the three primary color light beams transmitted through an image display device by Lippmann hologram elements, thereby shortening the optical path length from the image display device to a projection port. CONSTITUTION:The 1st to 3rd Lippmann hologram elements 8B, 8G, 8R are provided in order to synthesize the respective image display light beams, blue, red and green, transmitted through the respective image display devices 7B, 7G, 7R. The respective Lippmann hologram elements 8B, 8G, 8R condense the three primary color light beams transmitted through the respective picture element display devices 7B, 7G, 7R and, therefore, the light beams transmitted through one point of the respective picture element display devices 7B, 7G, 7R form the image at one point regardless of the reflection positions in the Lippmann hologram elements 8B, 8G, 8R. The respective picture element display light beams are synthesized and condensed in such a manner and are projected from the projection port 9 opened in a housing 2, by that the color images are formed on, for example, a screen 10. |
