The invention relates to a headlamp, especially for a motor vehicle, which comprises a light source (10) a flux concentration mirror (20) and a closure glass. According to the invention, the headlamp furthermore includes, between the mirror and the lens, a heat shield (80) which stops the infrared radiation whilst allowing the visible radiation to pass through. Heating of the closure glass, and possibly of a lens in the case of an elliptical headlamp, can thus be minimised, which allows, in particular, use of a plastic closure glass.
