PURPOSE:To prevent a transfer defect by constituting a 1st fixture in such a manner as to have a 1st member exhibiting the coefft. of linear expansion substantially equal to the coefft. of linear expansion of the stamper and a 2nd member exhibiting the coefft. of linear expansion higher than the coefft. of linear expansion of the 1st member. CONSTITUTION:The fixture 3a consists of the 1st member 31 and the 2nd member 32. The member 31 and the member 32 are coupled to each other by means of, for example, a bolt 41. The flexible stamper 1 is fixed to the member 31. A material having the coefft. of linear expansion substantially equal to the coefft. of linear expansion of the flexible stamper 1 is used as the member 31 and a material having the coefft. of linear expansion higher than the coefft. of linear expansion of the member 31 is used as the member 32 which is so constituted as to exist on the side inner than the member 31 with respect to the fixture 3b. As a result, the generation of strains in the flexible stamper 1 is obviated and the sure adhesion of the stamper to the surface of a roll base material 2 is possible. A transfer defect is thus prevented.
