Process for customising a microchip card

A novel file is devised, termed a dynamic file, by storing in two pointer registers the addresses in the memory of the start and end of this dynamic file. This dynamic file consists of the blank area of the memory, located between the data area and the allocation table. During the card customisation phase an instruction for selecting the dynamic file is executed first. The microprocessor then reads the contents of the pointer registers and points to these addresses. Then, the complete customisation operation is carried out on the selected dynamic file quite simply by executing the instructions for use. <IMAGE>
