PURPOSE:To realize dielectric breakdown instantly and certainly by furnishing a self-exciting oscillator circuit which uses a serial resonator circuit as a constituent member and impresses the output oscillated with the resonance frequency of the resonator circuit on an inverter circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a switch is put on, a self-exciting oscillator circuit 6 starts operating to give a signal with a frequency fm to a drive part 3. The drive part 3 gives an input signal with frequency fm to an inverter circuit 2, and the output therefrom which is an AC voltage with frequency fm is boosted by a booster transformer 2c into a specified voltage, which is fed to an LC serial resonator circuit 4. Voltage drop generated in a resistance 4d at this time is fed back to the oscillator circuit 6 via a TTL level converter circuit 7. Thereby a new self-exciting oscillator circuitry is formed, and the frequency fm shifts to the resonance frequency fo of the LC serial resonator circuit 4 which has higher Q. The time in which the frequency fm shifts to fo is an order of magnitude of several mus, and the high voltage grown by resonance is impressed on a discharge lamp 5 to cause a dielectric breakdown in a period of time approx. 220mus. |
