The flat electrical capacitor (1) comprises metal electrodes (3, 6) in the form of thin films, with an upper electrode (3) and a lower electrode (6) between which a dielectric (5) is arranged, the assembly being deposited on a substrate (2). At least one of the electrodes, such as the lower electrode (6), has a main part (6a) and regions (6b) separated from one another, each linked to the remainder of the electrode by narrow bridges (6c). Alteration to the working surface of the electrode (6), causing adjustment of the capacitance of the capacitor (1), is carried out by cutting one or more linking bridges (6c), isolating the remaining corresponding region or regions (6b) of the electrode.
