The invention relates to a multiple assembly register system which facilitates the production of even large assemblies with the aid of predetermined register standards in such a way that the assembly positions selected can be locked or stored highly precisely and flexibly. A preferred assembly device consists of a horizontal assembly board above which four separate positioning heads (15) can be taken to any desired position by means of an X-Y slide system (11, 12, 13). On the underside of each positioning head (15) are secured register strips (16) of a predetermined register standard. The multiple assembly register system of the invention makes it possible to assemble four DIN A4 double pages (I-IV) of a colour assembly substantially parallel. The positioning heads (15) are locked in their positions so that the printing master films for subsequent colour assemblies can be fitted in exactly the same position on further assembly base foils without any subsequent matching.
