The dimming control (12) is manually adjusted between an open and closed portion, to determine the light intensity of the display field. The carrier frame (11) for the dimming control (12) is fitted to the front of the clock housing in front of the display field (1) via adhesive means, e.g. a double-sided adhesive foil. Pref. the dimming control uses a roll-up foil operated by a torsion drive to bring it in front of the display field. USE - For reducing light intensity of display field in dark background lighting conditions.
