The receiver incorporates automatic switching from one radio signal to another, to maintain optimum reception, using evaluation of the relative reception strengths of the different radio signals during a test cycle. The received radio signals are entered continuously in a memory (5) housing a storage capacity corresp. to the duration of the test cycle and are read out from the memory for supplying a reproduction circuit (2) during the test cycle, to eliminate a reception gap. Pref. the memory has respective memory locations for the left and right channels (L, R) in the case of a stereo reception circuit. ADVANTAGE - Eliminates need for muting circuit and provides continuous reception during signal switching.
