IC engine idling speed adjustment - uses higher idling speed for ancillary set drive at constant reduction

The engine has a gear box with a neutral gear and several travelling gears. A higher or lower idling speed is adjusted dependent upon the gear in use. The higher idling speed is selected for the purpose of perfect operation of auxiliary sets driven by the engine. The lower idling speed is selected only, when a starting gear or reversing gear is used, as long as an auxiliary set, required for operation of the engine, and driven by it at constant reduction is working sufficiently. The auxiliary set may be an oil pump in the lubrication circuit, and the purpose may be to monitor an oil pressure or temp. USE/ADVANTAGE - For stop-go engine operation,with min.fuel requirement and reliable operation.
