A pipe fixture of thermoset plastics comprises an open half shell with two sidewalls, the sidewalls having two support flanges at an angle effectively covering the opening. A rubber inner shell inserts into the open half shell, reaching as far as the underside of the support flanges. The inner shell (8,9) is welded with outer half shell (1,2) and with the underside (10) of the supports (6), such that space remains between the support flange (6) and the sidewalls (3,4,5). USE/ADVANTAGE - Pipe fixture with damping shell gives reduced weight and cost for equal retaining and damping properties.
