PURPOSE:To provide the motion vector detection circuit by which a data discrimination circuit of a minimum value detection circuit does not make mis- discrimination. CONSTITUTION:A correlation accumulation value is inputted to a data discrimination circuit 13 of a minimum detection circuit. Then a sampling point representing a minimum value is detected and the value is outputted. The vertical and horizontal positions at that time are detected by latch circuits R1, R2. Furthermore, the data discrimination circuit 13 outputs an invalid output NOT invalidating a motion vector, an adjacent discrimination circuit 12 discriminates the case that a sampling point representing a minimum value is in existence adjacently and an adjacent discrimination output NEXT is fed to the data discrimination circuit 13, and when the adjacent discrimination output NEXT is outputted, the output of the invalid output NOT is inhibited. |
