<p>The spikes are made of a vulcanised rubber mixt. which, as vulcanised, has a tearing resistance >=30kg/cm, measured according to DIN 53515. Pref. ingredients for such rubber mixts. include: a significant proportion of nitrile rubber with built-in -COOH gps.; a phenol resin (Novolak) as hardener resin, with a methylene donor (hexamethylene tetramine) as hardener. The spikes pref. have a rounded surface at the rear, and are placed towards the outer edge of the running surface of the tyre, which is made with spare sockets to take replacement spikes.</p> |
