A mowing and chopping machine possesses at least one rotating tool carrier (2,3; 10;15), on which the tools (5) are fastened pivotably about bolts (6) parallel to the axis of rotation (1) of the tool carrier (2,3; 10;15). In order to achieve an easy mounting and dismounting of the tools (5), whilst ensuring a robust construction, the bolts (6) carrying at least one respective tool (5) are loosely mounted with their ends in long holes (4), directed radially to the axis of rotation (1), of two mutually opposite discs (2, 3) forming the tool carrier itself or approximately radially projecting tabs (11;11a) fastened to the tool carrier (10; 15).
