Electrophotographic recording material has an electroconductive substrate, esp. for the prodn. of printing plates or printed circuits, and a photoconductive layer, contg. organic photoconductor, phenolic resin as binder, sensitiser and the usual additives. The novelty is that a (substd.) polyvinylphenol (I) is used as binder. Pref. (I) has mol. wt. 1500-60000 and is a polymer of p-vinylphenol or halogenated, esp. brominated, polyvinylphenol. The photoconductive layer also contains an o-quinonediazide, esp. o-naphthoquinone-diazide.
