Weapon training apparatus comprising a simulated weapon 34, typically a rifle to which is attached a t.v. camera directly along the weapon boresight. The weapon is aimed and fired at a target image with a background scene projected onto a screen. The resulting video signal from the camera is analysed to determine the position of the projected scene within the camera's field of view and given that the target position in the scene is known, the accuracy of the shot can be determined. Signalling between the weapon and fixed parts of the apparatus is by infra-red and microwaves. The weapon may simulate recoil. <IMAGE> |
