The roof-rack accommodates surfboards or similar oblong items on a motor caravan in particular. It comprises a rail (3) on the roof (1) of roughly the same length as the surfboard etc. (6). A slide (4) travelling on the rail between stops has a mounting (5) or catch for one end of the surfboard, while at the roof edge is a support (10) with fixing device (11) for the other end. The front mounting (5) can be detachable from the slide, and can hinge on it. A rope (7) can be attached to the slide for the user to hold, being secured to a component (4) so as to limit slide movement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple, lightweight, low cost vehicle roof-rack for surfboards can be loaded and secured from below.
