Drainage layer for waste deposits, especially of gravel - with gravel laid on membrane in permeable bags to maintain required drainage layer

On the prepared substrate (1,2) of waste disposal site an impermeable membrane (2) is laid. On top of the membrane gravel or a similar medium is formed into a drainage layer. The drainage medium is contained within sacks (3) or similar type bagging. The drainage layer has a series of collection pipes run into it which lead to a holding tank. USE/ADVANTAGE - Sacks can be used to form embankments and provide reinforcement where strong flow can cause damage. Also, holding gravel in sacks reduces likelihood of gravel puncturing waterproof membrane.
