The magazine used for the transportation and handling of cheque, credit or permit cards has a thin walled rectangular cross section duct unit (10). The cross section is similar to that of the cards which are stacked within it. The lower end of the duct has a pair of spring biased latches set into opposite walls which retain the stacked cards. Each latch has an element (34) that is hinged along the bottom edge. The top of the element is subjected to leaf spring (56) pressure to effect release. ADVANTAGE - Simplifies handling of cards and transport of magazine, e.g. on conveyor.
