<p>A magnetic head device to be used in a magnetic recording apparatus is provided with a magnetic head constructed by a main coil, a power source, first and second auxiliary coils, first and second switching elements and a drive signal generating circuit. The power source applies a current to the main coil. The first and second auxiliary coils are respectively connected to both sides of the main coil between the power source and the main coil. The first and second switching elements are respectively serially connected to the first and second auxiliary coils. The first and second switching elements are adapted to be alternately turned on/off on the basis of an information signal, in which the direction of the current flowing in the main coil is switched in correspondence to the on/off operations of the first and second switching elements. The drive signal generating circuit supplies the current to the first and second auxiliary coils prior to recording of information. <IMAGE></p> |
