PURPOSE:To provide a mat-like oil capturing material with increased oil absorption volume and rate. CONSTITUTION:The subject mat-like oil capturing material is of a self-bound fibrous structure consisting of polypropylene, or polypropylene containing squalane or lecithin. In addition, the material is composed of a long sheet, with polypropylene fiber oriented in a longitudinal direction, folded to a width of 5 to 50mm and laminated in multiple ply and further, fused under compression. The laminated height is more than 10 times as much as the folded width. |
