PURPOSE:To reduce power loss during operation of a retractor shaft rotating type pretensioner, and miniaturize the device. CONSTITUTION:In a retractor shaft rotating type pretensioner, a pulley 5 is engaged with a winding shaft 11 of a seat belt retractor 1 by operation of a power source 2 to rotate the winding shaft 11 to wind up a belt 4 of a seat belt device, and thus to pretension the belt. A spacer 7 is slidably supported on a block 6, and a projection 72 of the spacer 7 is engaged with a notch 54 provided on the pulley 5 so that the projection can be freely loaded and unloaded. The spacer 7 is slid by rotation of the pulley 5 to be caught between the block 6 and the pulley 5. After that, the engagement of the notch 54 and the projection 72 is released, and the pulley 5 and the winding shaft 11 are engagingly rotated by the spacer 7 to wind the belt 4 by their rotating actions. |
