PURPOSE:To smooth start feeling by providing a control part for controlling the primary pressure to be increased to a designated pressure smaller than the primary pressure in a normal start mode at the time of a hold mode, thereby smoothing the start feeling at the time of transition to the normal start mode. CONSTITUTION:A speed change control device of a belt drive type continuously variable transmission 2 is adapted to control the speed change by increasing and decreasing the groove widths between fixed pulley pieces 6, 12 and movable pulley pieces 8, 14 installed in such a manner as to come close to and separate from the pieces 6, 12, and increasing and decreasing the radius of gyration of a belt 2A wrapped round the drive side and driven side pulleys 4, 10 to change the change gear ratio. A control unit 82 is adapted to control the primary pressure to be increased to a designated pressure smaller than the primary pressure in a normal start mode at the time of a hold mode, thereby smoothing the start feeling at the time of transition to the normal start mode. |
