PURPOSE:To improve the S/N ratio of a single-plate color solid-state pickup unit using mosaic color filters, by equalizing a 1H-delayed signal in waveform to an undelayed signal by the use of a fixed solid-state pickup element. CONSTITUTION:Solid-state pickup element 25 consists of photoelectric conversion part 26, line-directional charge coupled device 27, non-destructive charge detecting electrodes 28 and 31, charge detecting elements 29 and 32, 1H-delay charge coupled device 30, and charge annihilation part 33. In the above-mentioned constitution, charges passing under non-destructive charge detecting electrodes 28 and 31 have a time difference of 1H, but they are exactly the same charges, so that signals extracted from charge detecting elements 21 and 32 will have the same waveform. Both the signals are therefore extremely easy to keep balance and using this solid- state pickup element makes it possible to improve the S/N ratio of the color pickup unit equipped with mosaic color filters. |
