PURPOSE: To avoid a dangerous fissure of metal portion, by providing a new score line to a container capable of being opened by the rotation of a pull tab. CONSTITUTION: An easy open end employs a 'moustache' score (52), in which the apex of outward curves (54, 54) of the score lies outside of the opposing side planes (24, 26) of the pull tab (18) to effectuate a rolling of the metal ribbon (55) between the rivet (20) and the peripheral weakened area (16), so as to avoid lateral forces which tend to tear the metal along the metal ribbon (55). |
