<p>PURPOSE:To carry out the development of an air bag smoothly and prevent the surface of a lid from peeling off due to expanding pressure of the air bag. CONSTITUTION:An opening for a passage in an air bag is closed with a lid 3 which constitutes a part of in inner wall material, for example, an instrument panel. One end part of the lid 3 is fixed at an air bag unit AU which is fixed at, for example, a vehicle body through a joint member 8 provided a weakened part 51. By determining the preset position of the weakened part 51, an expanded air bag is prevented from coming into direct contact with a boundary position K2 between the skins 3a and 3b of the lid 3 through a joint member 8 which remains on the lid 3 side after breakage from the weakened part 51, or the joint member 8 which remains on the air bag unit AU side after breakage functions are a runway strip which helps smooth development of the air bag.</p> |
