Dianthraquinonyl compounds of formula <IMAGE> (I) wherein X is a radical R1, R2, R3 or R4, and R1 is alkyl or alkenyl of not less than 8 carbon atoms, R2 is -OR1 or -SR1, R3 is -NHR1 or -N(R1)2, and R4 is a group of formula <IMAGE> wherein R5 is -NHR1, -N(R1)2, -OR1 or -SR1 and n is 0, 1 or 2, and R6 and R7 are each independently of the other hydrogen, halogen, nitro, C1-C4alkyl or C1-C4alkoxy. These dianthraquinonyl compounds are preeminently suitable for the mass coloration of plastics materials, especially of polyolefins.
