PURPOSE:To enable quick traverse of a machining head in a short time. CONSTITUTION:When the machining head 10 is moved from the point P to the point Q on a steel sheet 45 by quick traverse, a distance D between a nozzle 11 and the steel sheet 45 is detected with a noncontact distance detecting sensor 15 and the machining head 10 is controlled in the Z-axis direction so that the distance D is longer than a prescribed value (e.g. 1mm). The machining head 10 is lifted in the Z-axis direction to hold the distance D longer than the prescribed value only when the distance D is shorter. On the other hand, even when the distance is longer because of presence of holes 110, 111 on the way of quick traverse and position correction in the Z-axis direction of the machining head 10 is not executed and the machining head 10 isn't lowered in the direction of the holes 110, 111. When the machining head finally reaches the point Q, the machining head 10 is lowered and approached to the steel sheet 45. |
