PURPOSE:To simplify initialization of a sensor and improve measurement accuracy of a current position by providing first and second wheel speed sensors, first and second pulse counters, a geomagnetic sensor and a control means. CONSTITUTION:A position measuring sensor correcting apparatus comprises first and second wheel speed sensors 11, 12 for measuring numbers of rotations of left and right wheels, first and second pulse counters 13, 14 for counting output pulses of the first and second wheel speed sensors 11, 12, a geomagnetic sensor 15, a map information storage means 17, an input means for setting two crossings, an arithmetic means 3 for calculating an orientation circle offset center based on the measured value by the geomagnetic sensor 15 at each crossing, a storage means 2 for storing each pulse counter value of the first and second pulse counters at each crossing, and a control means 1 for correcting the geomagnetic sensor 15 and the respective wheel speed sensors 11, 12 based on set information, map information, the calculation results and the stored values. This constitution allows simplification of initialization of the geomagnetic sensor and the wheel speed sensors and also improves measurement accuracy of a current position. |
