摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a fluid transfer device for effectively transferring a cooling fluid between enclosing and accommodating members of an aircraft gas turbine engine. CONSTITUTION: In a variable nozzle of an aircraft gas turbine engine, a cooling air transfer device is provided to transfer cooling air from hollow convergent flaps 46 and seals to hollow divergent flaps 54 and seals. A preferably embodiment includes two semi-circular tubes 73 and 75. The first tube 73 is partially inserted into the second tube 75, and the two tubes have a common center and radius of curvature such that the two tubes can slide about a pivot point 50F of the variable nozzle's pivotable convergent and divergent flaps and seals. The preferably embodiment further includes an entrainment opening 77 on the second tube in which part of the first tube is accommodated. The entrainment opening induces cooling air from a nozzle bay 79 into the cooling air transfer tube to help cool the divergent flaps and seals.
