<p>In the prodn. of garments, a sleeve is ewn for a jacket or a coat, by a semi-automatic sewing unit, from fabric with lining already fitted. Suitably the sewing machine is provided with a retractable contour guide mounted in the middle of a work-table. A feed device for the material has a delivery belt driven by a feed roller. The machine has a stitch cutter device and a stacker device for the fabricpieces. Sewing a sleeve is usually effected manually, or else by means of a long seaming unit with a template. The manual operation is expensive, and the long seaming units are costly to install. The semi-automatic unit provides a cheaper alternative for sleeve manufacture.</p> |
