A method for the mechanised suspension of individual sausages produced on an automatic filling apparatus (10), having loops (30) attached to their ends, on smoking or cooking rods (38) is characterised in that the loops are lifted out of the ejection region of the filler pipe, after being gripped by a first pair of carrier members (46), and are simultaneously widened, whereupon the widened loops are accepted by a second pair of carrier elements (96), moved away over the smoking or cooking rod (38), which is clamped at one side, and finally deposited on the smoking or cooking rod at the point intended therefor. As a result, sausages of any desired length with normal-sized loops can be strung on conventional smoking or cooking rods, and the sausages cut off from the string of sausages are immediately lifted out of the region in front of the filler pipe opening to a higher level, so that the region in front of the filler pipe opening remains free and the tying and closing tools, and the casing brake, can be removed unimpeded when the filler pipe is recharged with skin material. |
