The method comprises (1) sampling a given amount from the degreasing solution including the metal ions, (2) ascertaining an existence of the metal ions from the existence or nonexistence of a white precipitate being produced by adding (NH4)2C2O2 solution to the sampled degreasing solution, (3) measuring the required amount to put the chelate assay in the sampled degreasing solution till a dissipation of the white precipitate, and (4) calculating the total amount of the chelate assay for entirely removing the metal ions from the following formula, the total amount of the assay = the total amount of the degreasing solution/the sampled amount of the degreasing solution x the required amount of the assay.
