PURPOSE:To improve the heat stability without detriment to the workability by incorporating a plasticizer, an antimony stabilizer, antimony trioxide, tribasic lead sulfate and stearic acid each in a specified amount into a polyvinyl chloride resin. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. polyvinyl chloride resin preferably having an average degree of polymerization of 800 to 2,800 is mixed with 5-100 pts.wt. plasticizer (e.g. dioctyl phthalate), 1-10 pts.wt. antimony stabilizer, 1-10 pts.wt. antimony trioxide, 1-10 pts.wt. tribasic lead sulfate and 0.5-5 pts.wt. stearic acid to produce a vinyl chloride resin composition. The obtained composition has good machinability and excellent heat stability; therefore, it is suitably used for covering, e.g. an electric wire or cable. |
