PURPOSE:To provide a high gas-liquid separation effect by setting the boring position of a breather hole to a position displaced to at least one of the peripheral direction and the axial direction from a union pipe fitting hole in an air breather device provided for the ventilation of the power transmission device of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A pair of the first input bearing 56-1 and the second input bearing 56-2 are held back to back by an input side retainer 54 in the main case section 10-1 of a power transmission device, and a breather hole 80 is formed on the input side retainer 54. The breather hole 80 is provided to reach an outer periphery circular groove section 88 provided on the outer periphery 86 of the retainer 54 from an inner periphery circular groove section 84 provided on the inner periphery 82 of the retainer 54, and a circular space 92 is formed between the circular groove 88 and the inner periphery 90 of the main case section 10-1. The boring position of the breather hole 80 is set to a position displaced in the peripheral direction and the axial, direction from the boring position of a union pipe fitting hole section 94, thus the gas-liquid separation effect is improved.
