The present invention relates to a latching assembly for a lock consisting of a cylinder (1) and of an actuating key (2) matched to the cylinder, the head (5) of which encloses a means for memory storage of an individual electronic code, the cylinder (1) being equipped, between its rotor (22) and its stator (21), with at least one latching element which can be actuated electromagnetically under the control of an electronic circuit comparing a code specific to the lock with the code from the key. According to the invention, the transmission of the code from the key to the control circuit takes place by means of metal contact terminals (13) arranged at the periphery of an insulating support (12) situated between the blade (3) and the head (5) of the key, and engaging, after insertion of the key into the cylinder (1), with movable metal contact elements (28) of the latter, preferably balls loaded by springs (29), constituting a read device (25) connected to the control circuit. <IMAGE>
