The nozzle (5) is fitted into the melt distribution vessel with its nozzle tip protruding into a casting ladle. The nozzle has at least one weakened area (9) located at a distance from the tip (6) which enables easy sepn. of the tip from the main body. The body of the nozzle is tapered and its central flow channel is cylindrical. The nozzle has an outer cover (8) surrounding a ceramic body (15). The groove or weak area (9) runs around the nozzle and a beaker-shaped ring (12) fits tightly into the groove so that the side of the ring is tight against the inner walls of the outer cover. USE/ADVANTAGE - Steel casting. The nozzle does not have to be replaced after only a few casting. When the tip becomes contaminated by melt spray, it's end is renewed by knocking away the extreme end section. |
