PURPOSE: To brake a sheet packet even at high operating speed without slipping it, and maintain small drive output and load of a sheet as far as possible. CONSTITUTION: On a belt conveyor, at least an endless belt is disposed backward on the lower side of a travel plane. The brake stretch of the belt is parallel to the travel plane within a range of the travel plane or extends so as to decline slightly in the travel direction of a sheet. On the outer side of the belt, at least one clamping member 34 or 35 is fixed. Each clamping member 34 or 35 has a press-down shank extending circumferentially. When champing shank presses, it opens at an acute angle with respect to the belt. Before the travel side press- down end of the leg closes, it exists in the upper side of the travel plane and the clamping shank is pressed down to the belt to contact on the belt in the braking stretch of the belt, so that the endless belt is connected to an uneven transmission gear. |
