The femoral implant for a hip prosthesis comprises a stem (1) interacting with the medullary cavity (canal) and a neck (1f) receiving, directly or in add-on manner, a spherical head (3) interacting with the acetabulum of the iliac bone. The proximal part (1a) of the stem (1) has, over very substantially one third of its upper part, grooves (1b) formed vertically over each of its side faces, the depth of the grooves (1b) being determined so that their outer parts enter with friction into the medullary cavity with a view to pressing the fixation cement into the bottom of the said channels, whilst the anterior and posterior edges of the stem (1) are in contact with the bone, without interposition of cement. <IMAGE>
