A toilet seat is equipped with a quick release hinge fitting to allow easy removal of the seat from the toilette bowl for cleaning purposes. The quick release fitting connects the seat hinge to the rear flange of the toilet bowl and may be released with a simple manipulation, preferably by pressing on a push button.
