<p>PURPOSE: To avoid an echo compensating function and reticulated structure by packeting communicated information by using a communication cell which is shorter than or equal to a standard communication cell transmitted between exchanges or, even when the cell is equal to the standard cell, containing multiplexed communicated parts. CONSTITUTION: An ATM local exchange connects subscriber connecting lines through individual functional units SLM at every line. A line unit SLUR has a multiplex generator MZE and packets communicated information arriving from an SLM terminal. The line unit SLM has a cell forming device ZE in addition to the individual packeting/depacketing device P/D at every line. The cell forming device ZE forms a short cell, a multiplex cell, or such a cell that has the same length as the standard cell, but is partially packed. The partially packed cell is formed by only packing one time slot with additional information and ATM-mode transmission is already performed between the unit SLM and the line unit SLUR. The device ZE transforms the communication cell into the multiplex cell.</p> |
