PURPOSE: To compensate for an engine torque of a second period by establishing a target change rate based on a change rate of a speed ratio progression of a first period of up shifting, and regulating a fluid pressure to an engaged torque transmission by comparing the change rate with that of the second period thereafter. CONSTITUTION: In the case of transmitting a torque of an engine 12 to an automatic transmission 14, a fluid pressure is applied to an engaging torque transmissions 28 to 34 according to a predetermined pressure schedule based on a prediction of a torque to be applied to the transmission 14 when starting up shifting. That is, a target change rate is established based on that of progression of a speed ratio of a first period of up shifting, compared with that of a speed ratio progression of a second period continued to the first period, the fluid pressure of the transmissions 28 to 34 is regulated based on it, and the target rate of the second period is maintained. Accordingly, a correlation between shift quality and the measured shift progression interval is preserved. |
